It Takes A Village....

I don't know about you but I think there's something wrong with Halloween and Christmas decorations competing in our local stores. I mean really, if it's the goal for stores to get us to buy more, I think they are missing the mark. 

Seeing Christmas decorations along with the halloween stuff just makes me realize I don't need to buy any Halloween candy, costumes and decorations with Christmas around the corner.  Besides goblines and witches just don't mix with Santa, Peace, Joy, Love and Baby Jesus and we haven't even started with Thanksgiving! 

That said, there are many events taking place in the next two weeks to celebrate.  For fun seekers that prefer not to go door-to-door, the Twin Cities area offers some alternatives.   Valparaiso Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival 5-7 pm Friday, Oct 26th.  For more information call 729-3737.

The City of Niceville will pass out candy and goodies at the Children's park, 2-7 pm. on Wednesday, Oct 31st.

The Children's Park and the Niceville Public Library will sponsor the park's annual Fall Harest Festival 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednes Oct 31st.  The festival includes games, races, prizes, crafts and refreshments for all ages.

First Baptist  and First United Methodist churches will host the annual Orange Fest.  Fun for the Entire family.  The fest will last 5:30-8:00 pm on Wednesday Oct 31.  Feature attractions candy, food, inflatables, face painting, live bands, prizes, puppets, hay rides, "Trick or Treat" dramas and carnival games.
